Bon Voyage

Three years after the cancellation of our Trans Atlantic cruise we finally set off on a 107 day round the world adventure

We are off.

After a drive to Sydney, we had to unload all the luggage and check-in. The process was relatively smooth except for some lingering confusion around the Chile visa for Easter Island. Something which has generated many thousands of comments on the cruise's FaceBook page was still an issue at the port. The person checking us in was trying to tell us that the email we had from the consulate (which clearly states this is sufficient to board the cruise and which matches what we had been told to obtain by Princess Cruises) was not sufficient. We were about to enter into the circular argument that we had to have obtained the visa itself and not just an email even though the visa would be valid for only 90 days and we were leaving Sydney 95 days before we are due at Easter Island. As blood pressure began to rise they gave in and let us onboard.

First Look at our cabin was recorded by Kathy.

Along with a photo of the Luggage we have to pack away.

Looking at the task ahead of us we repaired to a bar to start getting value for the drinks package.

Gotta love officialdom. Let’s see how it unfolds. Have a great trip.
