From Barcelona, we head down the Spanish coast to the southern city of Málaga. Known for its 300-plus days of sunshine a year and the historical architecture going back to the Romans and the Moors. Also known as the home town of Pablo Piccaso it now features a pedestrian city centre, many cycle ways and beachfront shops, bars and restaurants.

For this port, we had arranged a 3-hour Segway tour starting at 9.00 am so we made our way to the centre of town to start our tour.

At 9:00 am most locals have only just gone to bed so the city centre was empty.

We had great fun on our Segway tour, zipping along paths and up hills to see the views from the highest point. Accelerating past a long line of walkers reconsidering their choice of transport as the morning begins to warm up. We saw the centre of town, the recently excavated Roma Theatre and the medieval castles and walls with spectacular views from the hills. Back down to the modern waterfront with its international and local eateries and restaurants.

All of this was captured on video.

However, there was a problem. My new action camera can shoot in 360 degrees which is useful in most cases but for this tour, I had turned it into 180-degree mode to only shoot what was in front of me. It turns out I had selected the wrong lens so the 45 minutes of video consists of close-ups of my shirt as we zip around town.

Here is the highlights reel:-

And here are some photos to show we did the tour.

After the tour, it was time for drinks and a light lunch. So Piney made an appearance as we stopped at a Pintxo bar.

For those unfamiliar with Pintxo or Pincho here is another clip from my favourite travel reference showing the delicious bite-sized food being enjoyed in another region of Spain.

The food was sensational, small bite-sized dishes with combinations not usually found on the Central Coast of NSW and a fresh local beer all for a few euros. The food was self-service plates each with a different wooden spike to indicate the price. To pay the bill the empty glasses and wooden picks are calculated.

We caught a taxi back to the ship ready for sailaway.

There was a delay in leaving the port as divers were still working on cleaning the hull. However, as we only had 50 kilometres to travel overnight this was not a problem.
